UREC x Kane Realty

Members of the club were generously hosted by Kane Realty for a presentation and property tour of their North Hills Innovation District, the newest phase in the North Hills development. NHID boasts office, residential, and retail that adapts to the surrounding environment.

ICSC & UNC Retail Real Estate Case Competition

Competition History

The Leonard W. Wood Center for Real Estate Studies was asked to partner with the ICSC Foundation in 2023 to co-host the Retail Real Estate Case Competition at ICSC Las Vegas. This invitation-only case competition is held annually during ICSC Las Vegas.

2026: 3rd Place Winner 
 

Walker Wilson, Thomas Smith, Tyler Hutchins, and Payson Brugge represented UNC

2025: 2nd Place Winner 
 

2024: 1st Place Winner 

Bo Miltenberger, Ian Podziewski, Peyton Youth, and Jack Shohfi represented UNC

Undergraduate real estate students traveled to Atlanta in Fall of '25, where they visited Ares Management, EDENS, PGIM Real Estate, and Stream Realty Partners, gaining insight into real estate finance, active development sites, institutional investment, and brokerage.
